Research Summary

Our laboratory combines human and mouse genetics to unveil the molecular mechanisms that determine kidney disease. Our current major projects include the identification of genetic risk factors for nephronophthisis, thrombotic microangiopathy and kidney stones. At the same time, we are studying a mouse model of nephronophthisis to identify pathways that regulate pro-inflammatory signals from damaged tubular cells and cystic kidney disease and the Dgke null mice, to clarify the pathogenesis of thrombotic microangiopathy and atypical hemolytic uremic syndrome.
