Mitochondrial dynamics & calcium cycling

The Mitochondrial dynamics and calcium cycling in neuronal injury, excitability, and plasticity Research Program of Excellence explores how mitochondria, which are known as the powerhouses of the cell, regulate brain development and function. Fundamental insights gathered from our research may lead to new therapies for various disorders of the central and peripheral nervous system.
