This service provides desktop support to all college personnel. Our desktop staff will troubleshoot and resolve IT issues elevated to them from the Healthcare Information Systems Help Desk. Digital Signage
The purpose of The University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine (CCOM) MedVision system is to highlight staff, faculty and student events and accomplishments and to serve as a vehicle for internal communications for the campus community and visitors. This is a closed-circuit campus communications system which utilizes LCD monitors to broadcast important information throughout the College of Medicine and UIHC areas.
Use of Healthcare e-mail is the preferred service in the college; however, we realize there are some with the necessity to use HAWK mail. Both services provide email and calendaring to all users. You can schedule meetings with faculty, staff and students. Using Microsoft Exchange 2010, you can create and manage tasks, store contacts, synchronize information with mobile devices and access information using Outlook Web Access.
I.T. Consulting
This service focuses on advising faculty, staff and students about the IT services available to them. In addition to providing advice and making recommendations, the service also assists with planning, deploying and implementing new IT services.
Mobile Device Support
This service provides UI Healthcare staff, patients and visitors assistance with mobile devices including smartphones, laptops and iDevices through a variety of ways including DYI directions and Drop-By Services.
Research Data Storage
The research data storage service has been established to meet the research community's need for low cost storage. College of Medicine has allocated space to each department to divide among research labs as the department sees fit. Additional R drive space may be purchased.
Software Application Development, Support and Consulting
This service provides software application development, support and consulting to individuals and groups in administrative, academic and research areas
Software Licensing
This service provides administrative support to faculty and staff who are looking to purchase a software license, or inquire about what software is already available to them. We will work with our customers and vendors to evaluate the best possible solution, achieve the best pricing, and ensure the licensing meets university contract/licensing requirements.
Web and Video Conferencing
Web and video conferencing is a service that allows users to participate in meetings, seminars, interviews, etc. over the internet. The service includes desktop web solutions and use of IP based video conferencing solutions.
