US applicants may be eligible for a Graduate Application Fee Waiver based upon program participation or financial hardship.
As a member of the Big10 Academic Alliance, U.S. applicants to University of Iowa graduate programs may be eligible for application fee waivers. Priority is given to requests submitting by November 15.
Program Participation
If you have participated in one of the programs below, you are eligible for an application fee waiver.
- Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) including UIowa REU in Microbiology
- McNair Scholarship Program
- SROP (Summer Research Opportunity Program) including UIowa SROP
- AGEP (Alliances for Graduate Education and the Professoriate)
- National GEM Consortium
- Post-Baccalaureate Research Education Program (PREP)
Financial Hardship
US applicants for whom payment of the application fee presents a significant financial hardship may request an application fee waiver. Once you’ve submitted your application, fee waiver documentation should be uploaded to your Admissions Profile in MyUI. Applications are not processed until the Office of Admissions receives fee waiver of documentation.
