Research

Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Staphylococcus aureus are bacterial pathogens frequently coisolated from the airways of individuals with cystic fibrosis. The work in our lab aims to characterize the interactions between these two bacterial pathogens with focus on the mechanisms that lead to mixed communities in the airways. Specifically, the focus of my project is to determine how P. aeruginosa initiates a motile response towards S. aureus during early interactions.
