Faisal Fecto, MD, PhD, a Neurology Resident in the Clinical Neuroscientist Training Program at the University of Iowa was recently a co-author of a publication reporting a new cause of Parkinson’s disease – mutations in a gene called TMEM230. This is only the third gene definitively linked to confirmed cases of Parkinson’s disease. The findings of this study were published online on 6/7/2016 in Nature Genetics.
