Christopher Groth, MD

Clinical Assistant Professor of Neurology

Introduction

Dr. Christopher L. Groth is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurology at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine and serves as the Clinic Medical Director of the UIHC Outpatient Neurology Clinic. He specializes in movement disorders and has a strong background in both clinical care and academic medicine. Dr. Groth earned his medical degree with research distinction from the University of Iowa. He completed his neurology residency at the University of Virginia, followed by a fellowship in Movement Disorders at the University of Colorado. Board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, he is actively involved in clinical research, education, and leadership. His scholarly work focuses on dystonia, Parkinson’s disease, and cerebellar disorders, with numerous peer-reviewed publications and ongoing participation in national and international research initiatives.
