The Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Immunology at the University of Iowa was organized in 1993 to bring together faculty from five departments that shared a common interest in teaching students and performing research in Immunobiology. The Program offers classroom and research training leading to a Ph.D. degree. On January 1, 2019 Dr. Kevin L. Legge was appointed Director of the University of Iowa Immunology Graduate Program. Dr. Legge performed his undergraduate and PhD studies at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville before completing a postdoctoral fellowship with Dr. Thomas Braciale at the University of Virginia. He joined the UIHC Department of Pathology in 2004 and the Immunology Graduate Program in 2005.  Dr. Legge’s research focus is on the pathogenesis of and immune responses to respiratory infections, with a particular focus on dendritic cell and T cell immunity.
