Dr. William Terry Named New Medical Director Director for Pediatric Cancer Center

The Department is happy to announce Dr. William Terry has been named the Medical Director of the Pediatric Cancer Center on Level 11, effective December 1. Dr. William Terry received his BA in International Studies and Spanish in 1991 from the University of North Carolina, followed by his MPH in Epidemiology and International Health in 1998 from Emory University in Atlanta.  After serving as an epidemiologist in the Office of Global Health-National Center for Environmental Health for the CDC, he served as an advisor from Johns Hopkins University implementing hospital-based surveillance systems for maternal and neonatal health in the two national referral hospitals in Honduras.  Upon his return he received his MD in 2009 from the State University of New York at Buffalo he continued into a pediatric residency from 2009-2012.  From 2012-2015 he completed his hematology/oncology fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center/New York-Weill Cornell Hospital in New York, NY. He joined the University of Iowa in October 2015 and has been a tireless advocate for patients and their families. Please welcome Dr. Terry to his new role!

The Department would also like to thank Dr. Arun Modi, who has been the nursing unit director of Level 11 since 2016, and has done a wonderful job in that role. Thank you, Dr. Modi!
