Please welcome Dr. Nicole Safina as Clinical Assistant Professor in the Division of Medical Genetics and Genomics.

Dr. Safina earned her BS from the University of Pittsburgh in 1994.  Next, she earned her medical degree from the Medical College of Pennsylvania in 1998.  Dr. Safina completed pediatric residency training in 2002 at National Naval Medical Center and completed clinical genetic fellowship training at Harvard Medical School in 2008. Since 2008 she has been a pediatric clinical geneticist at Children’s Hospital of King’s Daughters in Norfolk, VA and Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, respectively. She is board certified in pediatrics and sub-boarded in in Medical Genetics and Genomics.  

Dr. Safina joins the Division of Medical Genetics and Genomics to expand availability in the Medical Genetics clinics, including outreach and attending on the inpatient and consultation services.
