Research Summary

Amy L. Conrad, PhD is a clinical psychologist and her research expertise is in pediatric neuropsychology. As an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at The University of Iowa Children’s Hospital, Dr. Conrad works in the Pediatric Neuropsychology Clinic (25% time) and conducts assessments on children with various learning and attention concerns. For the past 13 years, she has worked on various NIH grants which combine both neuropsychological assessment and neuroimaging methods. Her work focuses on using neuroimaging (structural and functional) to evaluate brain development in children with oral clefts, at infancy through adolescence. She studies neurobiological correlates to language and reading disorders. She has also been involved in ongoing multi-center work evaluating the impact of treatment on psychosocial outcomes in children with oral clefts since 2012. Dr. Conrad also collaborates with neuropsychological and neuroimaging work in premature birth and Huntington’s disease.
