Stephanie Lee, MD

Clinical Assistant Professor of Pediatrics-Neonatology

Introduction

Dr. Lee earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics (2005) and a Bachelor of Science in Molecular and Cellular Biology (2006) from the University of Arizona. She earned her medical degree from Ohio State University (2012) and completed her Pediatrics residency (2015) at Nationwide Children's Hospital. From 2015 to 2017, she continued her work at Nationwide as a Neonatal Hospitalist. She went on to complete her Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine fellowship at St. Louis Children's Hospital (2020).

Dr. Lee joined Pediatrics as faculty in 2020. She serves as Co-Director for the Neonatal Neurocritical Care Program.

Research Interests

  • Impact of patent ductus arteriosus on brain maturation, oxygenation, and development
  • Utilizing neuromonitoring techniques such as amplitude-integrated electroencephalography (aEEG) and near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS) to improve clinical decision making
  • Neurologic monitoring of infants at risk for or with brain injury such as hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy, intraventricular hemorrhage/post-hemorrhagic ventricular dilation, and congenital brain malformations.
  • Factors that impact the developing brain such as pain management and developmental care
