How to Apply

Important Details

  • The typical trainee will be at the PGY-5 level and will have completed an ACGME-accredited psychiatry residency in the United States.
  • We participate in the NRMP C-L Fellowship Match
  • We accept J-1 and H-1b visas
  • For the 2023-2024 fellowship application year, the UI Hospitals & Clinics C/L Psychiatry fellowship is excited to announce that we are accepting applications either through ERAS, or directly via email using the ACLP common application. All applications will be reviewed and considered equally regardless of how the application is submitted. Our goal is to make the application process as inclusive and smooth as possible for everyone. A complete application includes:

  • ACLP Common Application with photo
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Residency Training Director Letter
  • Two additional letters of recommendation
  • Personal statement (less than one page) describing your interests in C-L psychiatry, what will make you a good fellow and future C-L psychiatrist, and your interests in the University of Iowa C-L Fellowship program.

Important Application and Match Dates for 2024-2025 C-L Psychiatry Fellows

  • July 1, 2023 – December 1, 2023: UI Hospitals & Clinics accepting applications and scheduling interviews
  • October 18, 2023: Match opens Noon ET
  • November 8, 2023: Match Rank Order List Opens Noon ET
  • December 6, 2023: Program Quota Change Deadline 11:59 pm ET
  • December 20, 2023: Rank Order List Certification Deadline 9 pm ET
  • January 10, 2024: MATCH DAY! Noon ET
