Hildegard Janouschek, MD

Assistant Professor of Psychiatry

Introduction

The Janouschek lab is interested in understanding the development of fear-related behaviors from a developmental perspective. Our current projects focus on acid-sensing ion channels, brain-acidity and the emergence of different fear related behaviors during development.

In another project we, investigate the influence of cerebellar manipulations on fear related behaviors and memory.

In order to answer our questions we use behavioral testing, genetic manipulations, molecular biology, biochemistry and neuropathology.
