Jordan Gainey, MD was one of only 14 residents honored with an “Excellence in Clinical Teaching Award” for 2022. Sixty-two residents from a possible pool of 800 were nominated for the award by medical students, faculty and peer residents or fellows. His approach to teaching was described as “transformative.” For example, he is noted for developing a 3D printed H&N model to teach nasopharyngoscopy during the Covid pandemic to limit exposure yet still provide realism. The award is an initiative of the Clinical Teaching Collaborative.
