Mitchell Coleman, PhD
Introduction
Dr. Mitchell Coleman is a cell biologist with specific research interests in the redox biology and biochemistry of articular chondrocytes. He obtained his undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering as well as his PhD in free radical and radiation biology from the University of Iowa. He then joined the Department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation for his post-doctoral work characterizing intracellular pathology in vivo following intraarticular fracture, meniscal destabilization and articular impact injuries. Additional research interests include aging- and diabetes-associated changes in articular cartilage as well as development of sarcoma therapies built around musculoskeletal cell biological concepts. He is currently an active member of the Orthopedic Research Society and the Society for Free Radical Biology and Medicine.
