NIH-Funded MAPP Research Network Study

The UI Department of Urology is one of six discovery sites in the Multidisciplinary Approach to the Study of Chronic Pelvic Pain (MAPP) Research Network, a groundbreaking study funded by the National Institutes of Health that was launched in 2008 to help better understand the underlying causes of the two most prominent chronic urological pain disorders–interstitial cystitis/ bladder pain syndrome (IC/BPS) and chronic prostatitis/chronic pelvic pain syndrome (CP/CPPS).

As the second phase of this two-phase project neared an end, UI Urology faculty authors published four articles in the first six months of 2023, including:
