Brief description of current research:

Work in my laboratory led to the identification and characterization of G-protein coupled estrogen receptor which has importance in metabolic regulation and advanced cancer. Current efforts are focused on: i) understanding its molecular mechanism of action and its biological role in the progression of female reproductive cancers, ii) developing cancer therapeutics that target this receptor and iii) evaluating the toxicological potency of environmental estrogens that act through GPER and their relevance for metabolic disorder and cancer.
