The Office of Consultation and Research in Medical Education (OCRME) provides coordination of services and products that support curriculum development, faculty development, measurement, evaluation and educational research.


Office of Facilities Planning and Management

Jason Miller, Director

​The Office of Facility Planning and Management oversees the collegiate facilities, which includes approximately 1.8 million gross square feet of existing space in 12 buildings on the university's health sciences campus as well as the UI Research Park.


Office of Faculty Affairs and Development 

Peter Snyder, MD, Associate Dean for Faculty Affairs and Development

The Office of Faculty Affairs and Development provides support and advocacy for the growth and development of faculty in their chosen areas of teaching, research, clinical care, service, and/or administration.


Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies

Daniel Tranel, PhD, Associate Dean for Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies

The Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies (OGPS) oversees graduate (PhD) and postdoctoral training in the biomedical sciences in the Carver College of Medicine


Office of Health Parity 

Joyce Goins-Fernandez, PhD, Interim Associate Dean

The Office of Health Parity works with other administrative offices  to foster a welcoming environment for all members of the UI Health Care community.


Office of Human Resources

Ellen Twinam, Human Resources Director  

The Office of Human Resources assists staff, administrators and faculty in identifying and developing innovative and responsive solutions to human resource and workforce development needs.


Office of Information Technology

Boyd Knosp, MS, Associate Dean for Information Technology

The Office of Information Technology provides support in the coordination or creation of appropriate I.T. solutions for the College community.  The Office oversees project management, consulting, desktop support, classroom and meeting technologies, web and graphic design.


Office of Research

Robert Piper, PhD, Associate Dean for Research

The Office of Research is charged with providing and coordinating resources for College investigators in both clinical and basic research endeavors.


Office of Statewide Clinical Education Programs

The Office of Statewide Clinical Education Programs (OSCEP) coordinates the College's community-based medical education, involving medical students, residents and physician assistant students.


Office of Student Affairs and Curriculum

 Christopher Cooper, MD, Senior Associate Dean for Medical Education

This Office of Student Affairs and Curriculum (OSAC) facilitates the activities of medical students at the College including admissions, financial aid curriculum, growth opportunities and provides support to students throughout the learning process.


UI Physicians

Douglas Van Daele, MD, Vice Dean for Clinical Affairs

University of Iowa Physicians is the largest multi-specialty medical and surgical group practice in Iowa. More than 700 physicians in 19 clinical departments provide specialized comprehensive care for patients, and serve as the medical staff of University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics.
