The Department of Dermatology is pleased to announce the promotion of two faculty members: Dr. Jennifer Powers and Dr. Karolyn Wanat.

Dr. Jennifer Powers has been promoted to Clinical Associate Professor of Dermatology.  Jennifer Powers, MD joined the Department of Dermatology as an Assistant Professor on August 31, 2017.  Dr. Powers comes to the University of Iowa from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina.  She was previously on faculty at Vanderbilt University.  Dr. Powers received her bachelor’s degree from Harvard and her MD from the Vanderbilt School of Medicine.  She completed her residency in dermatology at Boston University.

Dr. Karolyn Wanat has been promoted to Clinical Associate Professor of Dermatology.  Dr. Wanat joined the Department of Dermatology after completing her residency and dermatopathology fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania.  She earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from the Florida Institute of Technology and her MD from Washington University in St. Louis.  She holds joint appointments in Pathology, Internal Medicine and the Veterans Affairs Health Care System.
