Medical Laboratory Science Program

The Medical Laboratory Science Program provides patient-centered educational opportunities with theoretical knowledge and practical experience in hematology, clinical chemistry, microbiology, immunohematology, immunology, endocrinology, biotechnology and research which prepares students for many professional options. The program offers hands-on laboratory experience where students put course material into practice.

Nuclear Medicine Technology

The Bachelor of Sciences in Nuclear Medicine Technology is the only one in the State of Iowa.  Students in this program learn about patient care, medical ethics, radiation safety and radiobiology, radiopharmaceuticals, nuclear medicine and PET clinical procedures, emotional intelligence, research methodologies, CT procedures, and healthcare administration topics. Graduates from this competitive program work in clinical nuclear medicine, nuclear cardiology, positron emission tomography (PET), and research.

Radiation Sciences

The Bachelor of Science in Radiation Sciences encompasses the medical imaging fields of radiologic technology, breast imaging, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, cardiovascular interventional radiology, diagnostic medical sonography, and radiation therapy. Graduates from these competitive programs provide direct patient care, produce quality images, and deliver treatment using a variety of radiation sources.
