Medical Laboratory Science Program

The Medical Laboratory Science Program provides patient-centered educational opportunities with theoretical knowledge and practical experience in hematology, clinical chemistry, microbiology, immunohematology, immunology, endocrinology, biotechnology and research which prepares students for many professional options. The program offers hands-on laboratory experience where students put course material into practice.

Nuclear Medicine Technology

The Nuclear Medicine Technology Program includes didactic course work and clinical rotations at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics. The program provides a solid background in anatomy, physiology, radiation physics, radiation safety, radiopharmacy, nuclear medicine and PET clinical procedures, nuclear medicine and PET instrumentation as well as laboratory technique. Students are prepared to enter the workforce as nuclear medicine technologists and to practice in both clinical and research environments.

Radiation Sciences

The Baccalaureate Program in Radiation Sciences offers multicompetent major which includes education in a variety of disciplines including radiologic technology, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, cardiovascular interventional technology, diagnostic medical sonography, and radiation therapy. The program provides a broad spectrum of curriculum and prepares students for practice in a variety of health care settings.
