The University of Iowa Stead Family Department of Pediatrics seeks a Stem Cell Transplant and Cellular Therapies specialist. Academic rank is open and may be on the tenure track or clinical (non-tenure) track, depending on clinical experience and research interests. Appointment at the level of Instructor of Pediatrics (non-tenure or clinical track) may also be considered. The successful candidate will join the Division of Hematology/Oncology to provide patient care, teaching, and consultative services.
The Pediatric Stem Cell Transplant and Cellular Therapies Program provides comprehensive care for patients with hematologic malignancies, solid tumors, brain tumors, and non-malignant conditions. The Division also has a robust Adolescent and Young Adult (AYA) Cancer Program in collaboration with the NCI-designated Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Iowa. The scope of practice includes, but is not limited to, multi-institutional clinical trials, CAR-T and other cellular therapies, gene therapy, and additional innovative clinical protocols. The Division is actively engaged in cutting-edge research supported by the NIH and other funding agencies.

The department is seeking an academically oriented uveitis faculty to join a team of established ophthalmologists and optometrists. GYNECOLOGIC ONCOLOGY DIVISION FACULTY

The Division of Gynecologic Oncology in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine is seeking a highly qualified individual to join our group of five physician-surgeons on the tenure track or non-tenure clinical track. Academic rank and track will be commensurate with experience.
The Division provides complete and comprehensive care for patients with gynecologic malignancies in addition to performing complex pelvic surgeries on non-cancer patients. Our division utilizes both laparoscopic and robotic platforms for minimally invasive surgery in addition to performing open cases. We provide complex surgical care to patients which includes performing our own bowel/bladder surgery. Chemotherapy is administered through our division by faculty members, and we participate in investigator initiated, industry sponsored and cooperative group clinical trials (NRG/GOG). In addition to clinical work, responsibilities include teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.
The Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine is a highly ranked medical school where students learn to become accomplished clinicians, researchers and educators. Dr. Denise Jamieson, MD, MPH serves as the vice president for medical affairs and dean of the Carver College of Medicine at the University of Iowa. Prior to her arrival in Iowa, she was an OB/GYN department chair and therefore brings a wealth of expertise in obstetrics and gynecology and advocacy for our department. Her background ensures a strong focus on women’s health as well as medical education and research. We have enjoyed a longstanding reputation for excellence in resident education and our residency program is expanding to six residents per year with 35 total residents trained. The program was ranked 10th in the country by Doximity in 2025.
Basic research in our department spans molecular, cellular, and matrix biology of bone, cartilage, and connective tissues—advancing understanding of posttraumatic osteoarthritis, skeletal deformities, and musculoskeletal disorders. Our bone healing laboratory includes state-of-the-art animal research capabilities that support industry-funded and investigator-initiated research, alike. The orthopedic biomechanics laboratory is a global leader in studying the mechanics of the musculoskeletal system, contributing to innovations in joint replacement, fracture fixation, and methods to measure mechanical forces related to joint wear and osteoarthritis. We have had continuous NIH support for the past 29 years, supplemented generously by DoD funding over the past decade, with $2.1 million overall in external funding secured in FY24.
