Become a member of the University of Iowa Sight (UISight) Organization and join in our community’s efforts to make improvements in eye-care!
This organization is dedicated to preventing blindness through vision screenings and vision education programs in Iowa.
Vision screenings are offered to children and adults at local community centers, homeless shelters, soup kitchens, schools and libraries. These screenings detect eye diseases such as “lazy eye,” strabismus, visual acuity problems, and others.
Every person screened by UISight is matched with free healthcare coverage programs and/or informed about locations where free/subsidized eye care can be accessed.
This organization works closely with the CCOM Mobile Clinic and Iowa KidSight (an organization that is a partnership between the Lions Club of Iowa and the University of Iowa, Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences).
A number of fundraising events are held throughout the year to raise money that can be donated to global humanitarian eye health organizations, like Unite for Sight and ORBIS.
Please consider joining us for another exciting year of fighting preventable blindness and educating our community on the importance of eye-health!
