Students honor everyday changemakers with 2025 End-of-Year Awards
The End-of-Year Awards are presented at the close of each academic year to recognize the talents and commitments of students, residents, faculty, and staff towards furthering the education at the Carver College of Medicine. This year's awards were presented by medical students Abby Davison and Innes Hicsasmaz.

"Dr. Meiburg made sure I had clear instructions and expectations before my first day and spent extra time with me to practice physical exam skills specific to different clinics. He made an intimidating specialty/rotation very accessible and enjoyable!”

"Dr. Pichilingue was not only was a fantastic teacher on the clerkship, but she became an inspiration and a mentor that helped me tremendously. She is generous with her time, sacrificing her lunch time to meet with me and discuss pathology and being available to discuss any question I had about pathology as a career.”
"Dr. Bruch was a huge help during the residency application process. She really helped build my confidence. She reviewed my personal statement, which led to an entire perspective change that I feel was pivotal. When we matched, she was right there to warmly congratulate us.”

“I felt like a real member of the team and was appropriately challenged to build my skills and knowledge base. She gave constant supportive feedback and made time throughout the day for teaching. Dr. Davick is the kind of resident I want to model myself after.”

"Dr. Schwiesow ensured protected time during rounds to teach concepts related to our current patients and encouraged us to research and create our own chalk talks. He is a fantastic resource of advice and went above and beyond to research answers to my questions about preparing for residency applications.”

"I am not exaggerating to say that Chris Roling was one of the most important people in my medical school journey. He goes far above and beyond for each and every student. When I think of the Carver College of Medicine, Chris Roling is one of the people that first comes to my mind.”

"Annie’s service is characterized by humility, sustainability, and a fierce devotion to grassroots change. She exemplifies what it means to be a physician-advocate, and I can think of no one more deserving of this award.”
