Friday, May 16: Doctor of Medicine and Master of Medical Education Commencement Ceremony
6:30 p.m. | Hancher Auditorium
Denise Jamieson, vice president for medical affairs and Tyrone D. Artz Dean of the Carver College of Medicine, will preside over the ceremony. Kevin Kregel, executive vice president and provost, and Christopher Cooper, senior associate dean for medical education, will give introductory remarks. Jamieson; Kregel; Cooper; Jane Miller, professor and director of the Master in Medical Education Program; David Asprey, associate dean for medical education and professional programs; Amal Shibli-Rahhal, associate dean of student affairs; and James Choi, assistant dean of student affairs, will confer degrees. Patricia Winokur, executive dean of the Carver College of Medicine, and Bradley Haws, chief executive officer of the clinical enterprise and associate vice president of University of Iowa Health Care, will also participate in the ceremony. Chandler Brown, MD graduate from Marquette, Michigan, will be the student speaker, and Katherine Harris, clinical professor of internal medicine, will provide the commencement address. Akansha Jain, MD-PhD graduate from Fairfax, Virginia, and 2025 recipient of the Leonard Tow Humanism in Medicine Award, will administer the Physician’s Oath.

Saturday, May 17: Associated Medical Sciences Commencement Ceremony
2 p.m. | Hancher Auditorium
Denise Jamieson, vice president for medical affairs and Tyrone D. Artz Dean of the Carver College of Medicine, will preside over the ceremony. Barbara Wilson, president of the University of Iowa, will confer degrees. The keynote speaker will be Bruno Policeni, Kenneth L. and Gloria D. Krabbenhoft Chair and department executive officer in the Department of Radiology. Laurie Kroymann, director of the Master of Clinical Nutrition Program, will deliver the charge to the graduates. Mia Battani, Master of Clinical Anatomy graduate from Ankeny, Iowa, and Kylee Worrell, Bachelor of Science in Radiation Sciences graduate from Hinton, Iowa, will be the student speakers.
