Emergency Medical Programs

The Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Learning Resources Center is a State of Iowa-authorized EMS training program providing initial education programs for Medical First Responders, Emergency Medical Technicians, Advanced Emergency Medical Technicians, and Paramedics.

Medical Laboratory Science Program

The Medical Laboratory Science Program provides patient-centered educational opportunities with theoretical knowledge and practical experience in hematology, clinical chemistry, microbiology, immunohematology, immunology, endocrinology, biotechnology, and research which prepares students for many professional options.

Certified Orthoptist Training

This program prepares learners to take national board examinations to become an orthoptist, an eye muscle specialist who works under the supervision of an ophthalmologist and is responsible for the evaluation of vision and ocular alignment using specialized examination techniques.

Perfusion Education Program

Students in this program train to become certified cardiovascular perfusionists, gaining valuable experience with a variety of adult and pediatric clinical procedures, including transplants, ventricular assist devices, and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation systems.

ICARE Post-Baccalaureate Fellows Program

The Iowa Cancer Research Experience program aims to expand the cancer research workforce, especially trainees that come from backgrounds under-represented in the biomedical and cancer research field.
