Effective today (July 1), the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine Department of Biochemistry has a new name: the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.

A second round of research pilot grants have been awarded to University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine investigators as part of a COVID-19 research program funded by the Roy J. Carver Charitable Trust.

James Choi, MD, assistant dean of student affairs and curriculum and associate professor of anesthesia, grew up in Seoul, South Korea, and moved to Iowa City with his family when he was fourteen years old. Upon coming to the United States, it was suggested that Choi repeat a year of school because his English was not good enough.
