The center coordinates all cancer related research, education, and patient care by faculty and staff from 41 departments and six colleges across the university. A hallmark of the HCCC is multi-investigator collaboration among basic, clinical, and population scientists. In concert with University of Iowa Health Care, the HCCC is expanding its clinical practice to additional sites such as its Quad Cities campus in Bettendorf, IA, outreach sites, and collaboration with community oncologists and critical access hospitals to provide access to cutting edge treatments and clinical trials. In addition, UI Health Care recently forged an agreement with Mission Cancer + Blood to create a comprehensive cancer care network across the state of Iowa, which will greatly increase access to advanced cancer treatment and research across the State of Iowa.


The successful candidate for Deputy Director will be a creative leader and an accomplished administrator who understands the changing healthcare environment and is able to leverage the Center’s strengths to advance and support excellence in the delivery of clinical care and community engagement. The Deputy Director will be responsible for access, care delivery and coordination of cancer care at all UI Health sites, and cooperative efforts such as outreach and community collaboration to deliver exceptional care. This individual will foster excellent relationships across the institution and region, and will build innovative clinical programs. Stature in academic medicine in an oncology-related discipline (basic science, surgery, medical oncology, or radiation oncology), a record of effective administrative and fiscal leadership, exceptional interpersonal skills, and positive interactions with students, staff, and faculty are all important qualifications.

University of Iowa Stead Family Department of Pediatrics seeks an inpatient gastroenterologist. Appointment rank is open and may be to either the tenure track or clinical (non-tenure) track consistent with clinical experience and research interest. Appointment rank to Instructor of Pediatrics (non-tenure) may also be considered. The individual selected will join the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology, Pancreatology and Nutrition to provide patient care, teaching, and consultative services as a gastroenterologist.


Specific duties include the following:



  • Inpatient Gastroenterology Focus: Work closely with Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), medical students, residents and fellows to provide care for patients admitted to the GI service and consult service.

  • Procedural Focus: This position allows you to focus on performing inpatient procedures such as endoscopies and other GI-related interventions.

  • Call Schedule: Share call schedule with other providers to ensure adequate coverage while maintaining work/life balance.

  • Provide comprehensive clinical care to pediatric patients with gastrointestinal, liver, nutritional and pancreatic disorders, including IBD, Celiac disease, and other conditions.

  • Lead and participate in multidisciplinary care teams, working alongside specialists from various disciplines.

  • Perform a range of procedures including endoscopies in dedicated pediatric endoscopy suite or children’s hospital OR.

  • Contribute to the education and mentoring of medical students, residents, and participate in teaching of fellows in the division’s ACGME-accredited fellowship program since 1996.

  • Participate in continuing medical education (CME) activities to maintain clinical expertise and knowledge.

  • Collaborate with a diverse team of Pediatric Gastroenterologists, Advanced Practice Providers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals in the treatment of complex pediatric GI cases.

  • Optional participation in departmental research initiatives to advance the field of pediatric gastroenterology.

  • Maintain a high level of patient satisfaction through compassionate care, communication, and dedication to improving patient outcomes.


The Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology, Pancreatology, and Nutrition is committed to providing the highest available level of care to children with disorders of the digestive system, liver, and pancreas. Six physicians, 2 APPs and three nurses are accessible and responsive to patient needs.

Perinatal Psychologist


The Department of Psychiatry in the Carver College of Medicine at the University of Iowa is seeking a Psychologist to join our clinical track faculty. The UI Department of Psychiatry is comprised of more than 90 full-time faculty members who provide national and global leadership across a range of psychiatric areas including child psychiatry, neuropsychiatry, eating disorders, mood disorders, psychotic disorders, medical psychiatry, community psychiatry, and perinatal mental health.


This appointment will be on the non-tenure clinical track, open rank. The position is a 1.0 FTE and consists of 80% clinical and 20% academic time.


This Psychologist will join a growing psychology division within the larger department and will be a member of the Women’s Wellness & Counseling Service (WWC) team. The WWC is the product of a unique collaboration between the Departments of Psychiatry and Obstetrics/Gynecology. Located at the University of Iowa Health Care system - Iowa’s premier academic medical center - the WWC has the unique distinction of being the only clinic in the state to provide comprehensive, specialized psychotherapy and medication management services in an outpatient care setting. We serve women across the reproductive spectrum with a focus on the perinatal period. In addition to cutting-edge clinical services, we provide high-quality education to clinicians and student-learners, and design research protocols that highlight the value of our clinical and training efforts. 


The WWC is a multidisciplinary clinic committed to upholding optimal standards of inclusion and diversity in patient care. Our staff is anchored by perinatal psychologists and psychiatrists but also includes nurse practitioners, social workers, doctoral-level students, resident physicians, and medical students. Since its founding in 2007 the WWC has experienced tremendous growth which has resulted in the development of innovative initiatives including a Health Psychology program with the Center for Advanced Reproductive Care (hospital fertility clinic) and an Inpatient Antepartum Mental Health Care Clinic, as well as embedded mental health care in the OB-GYN Maternal Substance Abuse Disorders Clinic and Stead Family Children’s Hospital’s Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.


The Perinatal Psychologist will provide/engage in:



  • Diagnostic assessment and short-term outpatient psychotherapy using evidence-based individual, couples, and (potentially) group therapy models

    • Care will be provided to those who are planning to conceive, coping with infertility, or suffering from perinatal loss, who are pregnant or postpartum, or who have been diagnosed with OB/GYN medical concerns

    • Treatment will include both in-person and telehealth care



  • Education, teaching, training, supervision, and consultation to medical students, doctoral students, physician residents, fellows, and other care providers

Established in 1919, University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital is Iowa’s only comprehensive children’s hospital. The University of Iowa Department of Emergency Medicine is seeking faculty for a position in Emergency Medicine. Appointment rank may be at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor level and to either the tenure track, research track or clinical (non-tenure) track consistent with clinical experience and research interest.


The primary practice site (academic-based vs. community-based) will be determined by multiple factors to include department and applicant considerations, applicant’s qualifications and experience and needs of the overall health care system.


Opportunities exist for involvement in Pediatric Emergency Medicine, EMS, Ultrasound, Research, Toxicology, Hospice and Palliative Medicine, Critical Care, Sports Medicine, Global Medicine, Social Medicine, plus many more.
